Within the context of Sustainability Day, House of Design will present items and installations made of waste material in Oosterstraat and Carolieweg on Wednesday 10 October.
Assignment for designers
Groningen ontwerpt assigned six designers with the task of creating new items using waste material from shops. Anne Varekamp made a reusable envelope of plastic for Kokotoko (picture), Tim Vinke made a wall unit made of polystyrene foam for O’42 and TimNotSimon made a large installation of discarded textile for Stardust.

Designers Jakobine van Domming, Egbert Pikkemaat and Marc Paulusma created items for Holtbar, HKliving Brand Store and Laif & Nuver, respectively. You can also view their items in one of the shops in Oosterstraat on the 10th. In addition, several shopkeepers will place a sustainable item in the window display. Come to Oosterstraat to have a look at the items displayed at Maxime, Oddity, Betties, Optiek Magnifiek, Mary Jane and Burned. Be surprised by the results!
