Until 17 November you can visit the exhibition of our project Local Make Place in ‘t Wieshoes, in Warffum, NL.
The exhibition shows the design process and the end products of the project Local Make Place, an initiative of House of Design. By setting up the value chains around the products, we have taken further steps in developing a circular manufacturing industry in the north of the Netherlands. We have achieved this by working together with farmers, fishermen, education, government and several entrepreneurs.
Six product designers and artists were invited in 2019 to get inspired by the Wadden Sea Region and to conduct research into local renewable raw materials to make consumer products.
Together with a network of stakeholders, they investigated the possibilities of three circular and uniquely designed products.
The designers made a stool, an interior product and something for the breakfast table that can also serve as a promotional gift.
In the exhibition you can see how they used local materials, worked with local makers and schools. You will of course also find the finished products here. Some can even be ordered on site as a promotional gift.
‘t Wieshoes is open on Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
